It won't let me vote again, but here's my 2 cents: I started following your blog because of the images you capture. I love your client photos - they are beautiful, and creative, and I lke to see how you capture a family/kid/person, etc. I don't think you'd be doing yourself any favors by cutting out client photos. Surely you/ve gotten some clients just from your blog alone (so-and-so saw so-and-so's pics on your blog, etc). As much as I would LOVE to hear how you process and light everything, I think your site should function as an advertisement to potential clients (ie: non-photographers) as well. Now, having said that . . . yes, I'd love to see more photoshop info and lighting . . . can't you do them all???? Just my 2 cents.
Haha....thanks for the feedback, Marla. I actually *do* intend to cover all of these topics in one form or another-- I was really just curious to find out what most folks felt like my strong point was, and in turn what they thought was the most valuable kind(s) of info I could share.
Up to this point my readership has been primarily aspiring/casual photographers who wouldn't necessarily be interested in highly technical posts, and would tend to prefer more general tips & info. However, as a result of my recent nomination on Photofocus, I've got a few more advanced photogs checking me out. So I figured I'd take a quick inventory of what people hope to see on this blog.
Anyway, I'll be posting some new material soon. Thanks again for your comment.
Russ - people like me who do this for fun and knows nothing about photography needs the basics and tips. Shoot, I need to learn how to use all those buttons, dials, knobs, and I need to learn this foreign language on my camera first! For those out there who know what they are doing, they want your expertise and knowledge. I do appreciate anything you post and hopefully one day I'll even understand it! ; )
Trish-
I really appreciate you sharing your perspective, and I promise I won't go off the deep end into boring technical jargon......much, lol. But seriously- I'm gonna try to put stuff out there that will help people at all skill levels, because the pro photographers who read this blog will probably continue to be in the minority for the foreseeable future.
As always, I encourage you (and everyone, for that matter) to feel 100$% free to share your perspective on what you like and dislike, or what you'd like to see me do differently. I established this blog for folks just like you, so it's very important to me that I generate content that you find valuable.
Thanks again for your willingness to speak out.
-Russ
